one year

tomorrow, it will be exactly one year since i met this beautiful girl.

she's finally home from her first semester at nyu and we finally get to spend the whole winter break together.

there are just some people who make sense in your life. who you can be completely yourself with. who you can be completely ridiculous or lovesick or sarcastic or goofy with and they will never judge you or feel awkward. who you can tell things to. who is one of your people. 

i've only met a few individuals in my life who fit in this category. but this girl is one of them. 

i cannot believe a year ago we barely knew each other past our screen names. 

today, we were totally ourselves together. and we both already knew each other like that.

i had a blast. 

we ate donuts. even though we both never liked donuts before today. 

we took photos, as usual. in vintage dresses, as usual. in the middle of a city street, as usual.

we shopped, we looked into our childhoods through a doll store, we laughed, we hugged, we ate cupcakes and i made myself sick but the good kind of sick, the sick you get after one of the best days.

and we did it all in our city. the city we will always share, no matter where i end up next year. 

i had so much fun, mar. i can't wait to spend the next few weeks with you.
